They said women don't belong in construction.
We built a company that proves otherwise.
My grandmother walked into a university office in small town clothes.
No appointment. No connections. Six children at home whose futures depended on what she did next.
People from her town told her it wouldn't work.
That she wouldn't get the restaurant permit approved.
The assistant looked her over and told her they were booked for months.
So she sat down outside. And she waited.
A man in a suit walked by, and was the President of the University. She told him what she wanted.
He said, "Come on. Let's get the paperwork done."
She left that day with a permit to open a small restaurant serving the University of El Salvador.
My father was one of those six children. Some days he had one pair of shoes. Rubber soles that burned his feet in the heat. No choice but to keep walking.
My parents came to this country and built a life with their hands. English was never easy. The system was never built for them. But quitting was never an option.
I grew up watching that.
When people meet me and then meet my parents, they go quiet for a second.
They cannot reconcile the two pictures.
That pause is exactly why I do this work.
I am what comes after everything they carried.
And I built SoSheBuilds so the next generation does not have to carry it alone.
SoSheBuilds exists so that one day, a contractor's child can say:
"My family was given a chance that changed everything."
We Build Contractors
Government contracting strategy, BD positioning, and agency relationships for small and diverse contractors who are ready to win but need the roadmap to get there.
We Build Community
We hire remote talent from underserved communities because opportunity should not depend on geography. Our foundation is the Mojave Desert. Our reach is national.
We Build Legacy
Training, bootcamps, and Spanish-language programming that make the SoSheBuilds methodology accessible to every contractor, not just the ones who can afford a fractional advisor.
A contractor came to SSB. Four years in business. No awarded public works contracts.
90 days with SoSheBuilds. One $1.2M contract.
No legacy relationships. No connections.
Just the right strategy.
That is what this work is for.
You are exactly who we built this for.
If you are the contractor who has been told no enough times to stop counting, let's change that.
